What is a sound bath?

A sound bath is held in a group setting, where waves of soothing sounds are played using particular instruments such as gongs, various bowls and thereapeutic percussion. You will lay down on the floor for maxiumum relaxation or seats can be made available if needed, please let us know beforehand. The sound bath is a passive meditative experience, participants simply listen and allow the sounds to have their effect.

What should I bring to a Sound Bath?

Bring a yoga mat, a cushion for your head and maybe under your knees, water to drink, a blanket, wear loose or stretchy clothing, maybe some layers to stay warm as your body temperature drops when in a state of relaxation.

I'm pregnant, can I come to a sound or movement session?


Women in their first trimester of pregnancy should not attend a sound bath or a movement therapy session, reasearch has not been done in this area and therefore cannot be advised.


Should I come to a group sound bath or 1:1 sessions?

A group sound bath is usually a large group, the limitation depends on the size of the venue, small groups can be arranged upon request. Those suffering with anxiety, who don't like being in large groups or have particular needs or requirements may find it helpful to attend a small group or 1:1 session. Can I have a sound treatment if I suffer seizures?

Those with sound induced Epilepsy should not attend due to changes in brain waves during a sound bath.
Those who experience other type of seizure, if under control are safe to attend a sound bath.

Can I bring my child to a Sound Bath?

What is the difference between a Sound Bath and Sound Therapy?

A sound bath is held in a group setting, instruments are played for general relaxation and stress reduction. Sound Therapy invovles guidance from a practitioner, where the client has space for self reflection with prompts and talking therapy, in order to go deeper into the practice. A sonic prescription is created where specific instruments, sounds and techniques can be used to suit your particular needs.
